July is the perfect time to stock up on Dollar Tree School Wooden Rulers.  The colored part of the ruler just peels right off and you are ready to go.

I cut my ruler in 1”, 2”, 3”, 4” and 5” strips using my Miter Saw and then decoupaged a different napkin to each strip.  You could also paint or stain each strip depending on your style.  Stain and add a 7” strip to the back of the tree for your tree trunk.  You can either add a loop of twine or add to a Mixed Media Canvas.

This decorative 6” x 6” Chunky Canvas is one of the quickest Christmas crafts and really adds a touch of festivity to any home decor.  Pick out your favorite Christmas napkin.  Be sure and try out the Iron On Method to decoupage the napkin onto the canvas.  This method really helps to keep most of the wrinkles out!
