How To Decoupage a Plain White Candle with a napkin
Did you know that you can decoupage a plain white candle with a napkin? You can also do this technique on the flameless candles if they have a wax coating on the outside.
You only need a few supplies: candle, napkin of your choice, scissors, heat tool or hair dryer, wax paper and a waterbrush or paint brush.
The first thing that I did after I cut out my design. I used a waterbrush and go around my design. This gives the image a softer look.
I cut out some of the hearts to add to each side the side of the candle around the words “Happy Valentine’s Day”.
Wrap the candle in wax paper (I used the cheap stuff from Dollar Tree) and then use a heat gun or hair dryer. The heat will begin melting the candle so that the napkin stays in place. Make sure that you don’t stay in one place for too long because you can melt the side of the candle into an awkward shape.
The way that you will know that the napkin has melted is that the wax paper will become a darker color. It’s a lot like using embossing powder in stamping.
I love how my candles turned it. These candles would make great gifts for that someone special in your life. I can’t believe how easy it is to decoupage a candle with a napkin!
Hope you enjoy and Happy Valentine’s Day!
