Easy Way to make Small Prints

Can’t afford a mini photo printer to use in your scrapbook, planner or traveler’s notebook?  Although I’m sure they are great, my budget just doesn’t allow!

One way that I have found is to use www.canva.com.  You can select “Create A Design” (mine’s in the top right hand corner) and print your own photo…any size you want.  I usually start with a 6” x 4” image size because I get FREE photo paper when I order the ink for my printer.   This will allow you to print 2 pictures per 6” x 4” photo paper.

Once you have the image size set (size that you plan to print), you can go to Elements and select a Square Grid.  I tried using a shape or frame but then I wasn’t able to get the right size template that I wanted because they wouldn’t adjust to a different shape (like a square to a rectangle).

Select the square and drag it over to your photo layout, it will actually cover the full size of the layout.  All you need to do is resize the frame for the size you want to print.  I usually do about a 2 ½” x 3 ½”. This will allow you to print 2 photos per 6” x 4” photo paper.

Upload your photos by using the “Upload” tab.  Once that’s complete then all you need to do is slide the image on top of the rectangle and it will automatically fill in the rectangle.  Do the same for the second photo.  Now save the image and print.  I usually save my file as a jpg and move the Quality slider (illustration above on the right) to 100%.

I have also used photos in Canva and have created my own inspirational quotes on top of a photograph. Canva has free and paid photographs…just depends on the plan that you have. You can do a lot of creating and designing with just a FREE plan.

I hope that you will give www.canva.com a try. It’s a great resource to not only print photos but create cards, instagram posts, facebook posts and newsletters. I plan to do this process a lot this year for my Word of the Year 2021 which is “FOCUS”. Be sure and check out my blog post about how my word found me!!!

Happy Documenting!
