14” Wire Ring Wreath from Dollar Tree
Clothes pins (regular-sized or mini)
Acrylic paint in assorted colors
Quart size Baggies
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Decorative elements like seashells, starfish, and sand dollars
Ribbon
Twine for hanging

Step-by-Step Instructions to Create A Clothespin Wreath

Begin by painting the clothes pins in your choice of colors. Add acrylic paint into a quart size baggie with a little bit of water and mix the paint. Add your clothespins and take out your frustrations!!! Shake, shake, shake. Turn your clothespin out on a craft mat so that they won’t stick to paper. I used a baby-wipe to make sure that every part of the clothespin was covered. I also used the baby-wipe to remove some of the paint for a distress look. You can use spray paint for a quicker process.

Once the clothes pins are dry, start clipping them onto the wreath form.
Open the clothespin and clip to the first two rings of the wreath.
Open the next clothespin and clip to the second and third rings of the wreath. (There will be no clothespins on the outside ring.)
Place them close together and mix up the colors and patterns for a more interesting look. Or you can do an umbra effect or making a beach seascape. The design is entirely up to you!
Keep clipping the clothespin until you are finished.

Let’s Embellish The Wreath

Add seashells to the side of the clothespin wreath with hot glue or E6000 (if using on your front door)
Make a bow with a burlap style ribbon and solid color ribbon (Dollar Tree). Attach the two bow together - one on top of the other.
Before adding the bow to the wreath, add a swirl of white rope from Dollar Tree for a touch of nautical flair . (I hot glued the ends on the back of the wreath so that they didn’t show).
