Wooden Christmas Tree Project
I just had my first Facebook Live last week and I can’t begin to tell you how nervous I was. I’m not very techy, especially when it comes to my cell phone but I figure that if I wanted to reach more people than the best way was to do a live!
One of the first crafts that I did during my Facebook Live was a wooden Christmas tree using Dollar Tree wooden rulers, a paint stick, Christmas napkins, paint and hot glue. I purchased a miter box/saw from Home Depot so that I could cut the sticks into the sizes that I wanted. I got the miter box because my intentions were to angle the wood shapes on each end so that the tree looked like a triangle. After I cut the rulers, I decided that for my first time on Facebook, I better just stick to a straight edge!
This is a really easy project and could definitely be done with children. I even made a Christmas tree with Popsicle sticks…which would be fun to do with your children or grandkids.
Here is a list of supplies that I used:
Wooden Rulers from Dollar Tree (I used about 3 per tree)
Paint Stick for the trunk of the tree (you can use another ruler)
Christmas Napkins
Paint and brushes
Hot glue
Ribbon and Embellishments
I used the only Christmas napkins that I had in my stash! Any other year you can usually find Christmas items in the stores around the 1st of July but not this year. All I could find was pumpkins, acorns, fall leaves and fall napkins! I have had the hardest time finding items to use for Christmas in July projects! Thank goodness that I had a stash leftover from last year (and probably the year before that, etc…)
I hope that you enjoy this video and if you have any questions, please let me know. Merry Christmas!
